Jacob’s practice concentrates on construction and commercial litigation, land use, and local government law. He is Board Certified in City, County and Local Government Law and has extensive experience as general and special counsel to numerous local government entities. Jacob is an internationally recognized expert on Florida local government and land use law, cited and interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, Fox Business, and many more. Jacob regularly represents developers and environmental organizations in court and before local governments boards on land use, local government and constitutional matters. He has also represented large and small businesses in commercial and construction disputes in courts throughout Florida.

Jacob grew up in California and obtained his bachelor’s degree from U.C. Santa Cruz in 2010. He then studied at Vanderbilt Law School, graduating in 2014. At Vanderbilt, Jacob was an Articles Editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law, and the Vice President of the Vanderbilt Jewish Law Student Association. Jacob also interned for the Vanderbilt Appellate Practice Clinic and Magistrate Judge Joe B. Brown of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. After graduating, Jacob moved to Orlando to practice as an Assistant Public Defender. During this time, he served hundreds of clients and gained extensive experience in motion practice, appeals, and jury trial advocacy. He spearheaded training initiatives on statistical concepts, due process, and extraordinary appeals.

Jacob is an active member of the local legal community. As an active member of the Orange County Bar Association, he has taken a leadership role in the Young Lawyers Section, being a member of the Section’s Board of Directors since 2020, and was elected President of the Section in 2023. Jacob has also spoken at seminars and clinics on issues such as government ethics, regulatory takings, domestic violence prevention, and Fourth Amendment doctrine.

Jacob lives in Longwood, Florida, with his wife Kelly, and their son Asher.
