Josh Grosshans, Esq.

Josh is the founder and managing partner of The Grosshans Group where he leads the firm’s mission of supporting those who build. For nearly two decades he has represented clients at every level of the construction industry — developers, general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, and commercial owners — on residential, retail, theme parks, hospitality, restaurants, healthcare, church, and private school projects. Today, Josh focuses on national and international builders and commercial owners involved in complex construction matters, and he oversees the firm’s multidisciplinary teams across land use, transactions, presuit claims, litigation, and insurance disputes.

Josh is routinely involved in helping clients proactively avoid or resolve disputes and project delays. He is always ready to discuss anticipated or active obstacles affecting a project and enjoys assisting clients in avoiding conflicts before they start. This can include navigating evolving building codes or legal standards, land use and zoning regulations, or revising contracts to avoid difficulties a client may have experienced in the past. Josh also works with clients and industry groups as they evaluate proposed legislative and regulatory changes that affect the construction industry.

In addition to his work for construction clients, Josh represents churches and private schools on a variety of matters without charge.

Josh’s leadership and reputation within the legal community have led to him serving in a number of notable roles. In 2012, 2016, and again in 2020, Josh was appointed by Governors Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis to serve on the Judicial Nominating Commission for Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit, where he assisted in evaluating and nominating candidates for judicial vacancies. In 2022 and again in 2024, Governor DeSantis appointed Josh to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Sixth District Court of Appeal, where he continues to play a role in the nomination of appellate judges for Florida’s newest appellate court. From 2024 to 2026 Josh served as the Chair of the national Board of Directors for the Christian Legal Society. He is regularly invited to speak at events for clients, lawyers and law students on construction law issues and the practice of law as a whole.
