Elizabeth Gibson, Esq.

Elizabeth Gibson, Esq.

Of Counsel

Elizabeth brings a rare combination of judicial insight, trial experience and industry knowledge to the Firm. A former judge of the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida, her practice today focuses on assisting various litigation teams with case and trial strategy and preparation in complex construction litigation. Drawing on her experience as a former judge, in-house counsel and as a seasoned trial attorney, Elizabeth offers clients a distinctive “bench-to-boardroom” perspective that is uncommon in private practice. Elizabeth also offers services as an independent mediator and arbitrator.

Before her judicial service, Elizabeth spent eight years in the healthcare sector, working with two of Central Florida’s largest healthcare organizations. In this role, she navigated complex legal and regulatory frameworks, ensuring compliance within a highly regulated federal landscape. Her firsthand understanding of the operational and legal challenges facing large organizations enables her to guide clients in mitigating risk, avoiding disputes, and developing proactive regulatory strategies.

Elizabeth’s litigation background is equally extensive. She began her career as an Assistant State Attorney, where she served for nearly eight years and tried close to 100 jury trials to verdict as first chair. This significant courtroom experience, combined with the thousands of cases she later presided over as a judge across civil, criminal, and family law divisions, provides her with a comprehensive and strategic approach to litigation and dispute resolution.

Elizabeth also brings a unique international perspective to her practice. She earned her undergraduate degree while living in Yokosuka, Japan, where she became fluent in Japanese.

In 2020, Elizabeth was appointed to the County Court bench, where she served in the Criminal, Civil, and Jail divisions. After being elected to retain her seat in 2022, she was elevated by Governor Ron DeSantis to the Circuit Court in 2023 where she served until her retirement from the bench to join The Grosshans Group.
